The Hyatt Regency at the Oregon Convention Center is located to the north of the existing Oregon Convention Center in downtown Portland. This full-service hotel contains 600 rooms plus substantial meeting, food service and retail space. The hotel development attracts larger conventions to Portland and spurs additional economic development in the neighborhoods surrounding the convention center. The hotel is located directly on the light rail serving the overall Portland metropolitan area with direct access to Portland International Airport.

As part of the Hyatt Regency hotel project Metro, the Oregon Convention Center and Mortenson dedicated funding to develop construction careers for women and people of color. The Community Construction Training Program provided funding to BOLI-certified pre-apprenticeship programs to diversify the pipeline of future workers. This program exceeded pre-apprentice training goals, directly investing in 112 pre-apprentices to help generate well-paying careers for those who are underrepresented in the trades. The program grantees included Constructing Hope, Portland Opportunity Industrialization Center, Portland YouthBuilders, Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc., and Pacific Northwest Carpenters Institute.
