The Hyatt Regency Hotel & Conference Center was originally built in 2006 as the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
The facility is an anchor of the Iowa River Landing district, which is nestled along the Iowa River and includes a mix of brewpubs, wine dives, boutiques, hotels, museums, condos, public trails, and parks. In 2019, over 88,000 square feet of the facility were modernized to maintain brand standards established by Marriott. Renovations were made to the grand ballroom, junior ballroom, exhibition space, meeting rooms, and common spaces. Interior finishes and mechanical and electrical systems were also upgraded.
In 2021, the hotel and conference center was reflagged as the Hyatt Regency Hotel & Conference Center. The Coralville site is the first Hyatt Regency in the state of Iowa.
